Narayan Aluru  

University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign

Prof. N. R. Aluru's research interests focus on multi-physics and multi-scale analysis of MEMS/NEMS, modeling uncertainties and stochastic behavior in MEMS/NEMS, Bio-MEMS, micro and nanofluidics. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). He was a recipient of the 1999 NSF CAREER award, 1999 and 2006 NCSA Faculty Fellowship, a 2001 CMES Distinguished Young Author Award, a 2002 Xerox award for faculty research, a 2002 Willett Faculty Scholar Award and a 2006 ASME Gustus L. Larson Award. He serves as an Associate Editor for the IEEE/ASME Journal of Microelectro-mechanical Systems and serves on the Editorial Board of a number of other journals. He has published over 80 journal papers on various aspects of MEMS/NEMS, Bio-MEMS and micro/nanofluidics.
