Dr. James C. M. Hwang is Professor of Electrical Engineering and Director
of the Compound Semiconductor Technology Laboratory at Lehigh University.
His work experience includes twelve years in industry at IBM, AT&T,
GE, and GAIN. In 2002, Prof. Hwang helped establish the $60 million Center
for Optical Technologies at Lehigh University and served as its interim
director for six months. He has been a consultant for the U. S. Government
and many electronic companies in the areas of RF/microwave devices and
integrated circuits. Most recently, as supported under DARPA’s HERMIT
Program, he established the first quantitative model for dielectric charging
in RF MEMS capacitive switches. He co-founded GAIN and QED; the latter
became a public company (IQEP). He has published approximately 200 technical
papers and has been granted four U. S. patents. He is a Fellow of the
Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
